During Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's second term in office (2009-2014), Rs. 1345 Crores were spent on his foreign trips. In 2014, Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India. Between 2014-2018, a total of 2037 Crores were spent on his travel to foreign countries.

Narendra Modi travelled to 94 countries in 5 years, while Manmohan Singh travelled to 95 countries in 10 years.

In BJP's defence, Narendra Modi's trips has yielded record Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India. DIPP data shows that between 2014-2019, FDI inflow was $268 billion compared to $189 billion between 2009-2013, which was PM Singh's 2nd term in office.
