The world’s banana production might go for a toss due to climate change. India, the world’s largest producer of the fruit would be affected the most, a new study suggests. Between 2010-2017, India produced 29 million tonnes of bananas every year.

Ironically, the world's rising temperatures acted favourably for banana cultivation in the past several decades leading to high yield in 27 countries. But this trend will reverse, if climate change persists at current rates.
