Only 4 % of Indian households possess an Air conditioner. Its way less when compared to 60% Chinese households and over 90 % in the United states. The rise in incomes and improvement in access to electricity has created an increase in demand for AC's in India.
In 2017, there were 30 million AC's used in homes and commercial establishments in India, compared to just 2 million in 2006.
International Energy Agency projects that by 2050, India will be among the top countries that will lead the demand for electricity to power its Air Conditioners.
