The sweep of promises is wide and varied in Maharashtra as more than83 million voters get set to cast their vote tomorrow for a new 288-member legislative assembly.
Opinion polls predict there may not be a fractured mandate. Is Maharashtra set to re-write history by giving a majority to a single party? The last time this happened was 1990 when Congress had a clear majority in the assembly.
With both the major alliances splitting ahead of the elections, the contest is expected to be fierce across most constituencies.
So, what are the promises expected to be at the back of the mind of voters when they walk into booths between 7 am and 6 pm? We will know what voters believed or did not on Sunday, 19th October.
